What to expect before your visit

At your first appointment you'll be greeted by our friendly receptionist who will ask you to complete an intake form if you have not already done so online. If you have email you would have already completed this in advance and returned it to us. It's crucial that you tell us everything that may be relevant to your current problem as the form is a key element in the process of getting to the bottom of the issue and going on to formulate the correct treatment plan to deal with it.

Here at Swansea Chiropractic Clinic we are one of the few chiropractors in Wales specialising in treating pregnant women and, perhaps more importantly, have extensive experience in doing so. If you are having trouble with pregnancy back pain – don’t worry, it’s perfectly normal for many women to experience this.

Causes

Back pain in pregnancy is usually caused through a number of factors: a change in posture; increased pressure on the discs; hormonal changes; a shifted centre of gravity and uterine expansion. One, some or all of these factors can often result in lower back pain, and although it’s nothing to worry about, it does bother many pregnant women and can be quite debilitating.
